Here’s What to Expect in Your P-Shot® Appointment at Our Facility

The Priapus Shot is a non-invasive treatment that is relatively comfortable and only takes around 30 minutes. Patients do not have to take drugs or undergo surgery to receive this type of medical care. Also, there is no downtime, and you can begin having sex the same day.

When you come for a P-Shot® appointment, you can expect the following:

We will extract platelets from your blood: During this treatment, a sample of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge machine. This process concentrates the healing components in your blood into platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

We will numb the treatment area: Because this treatment will involve an injection to a sensitive area, we will apply a local anesthetic to numb the area to minimize as much pain as possible.

We will inject the PRP into the treatment area: After applying a local anesthetic, the physician will directly inject the PRP into your penis using a tiny needle to regenerate muscle tissue and blood vessels, at which time the natural healing process begins.

We will discuss aftercare and what to expect from your treatment: Depending on where you receive the PRP injection, you may be given a penis pump to aid your treatment. We may also take the time to schedule future treatment sessions based on the severity of your ED or discuss realistic timeframes for when you should start seeing results from your treatment.

Many patients do not experience pain during their treatment, though they may have side effects after the numbing agent wears off. Side effects generally stem from the physical injection, so some swelling, redness, or bruising is common. If you feel significant pain or experience an allergic reaction, alert your physician immediately.

In general, many patients are able to go home within the hour of their treatment session and resume regular activities later in the day.

When Can a Patient Expect Positive Results From the P-Shot®?

Some patients experience immediate results after receiving a P-Shot® injection; however, many patients require more time before seeing their ED symptoms subside. Most patients need around three to four weeks to notice significant changes in their sexual health, with the longest waiting period for patients being three months.
