P-Shot for Erectile Dysfunction

Men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED) now have multiple treatment options to help improve their sexual health, with one treatment being the P-Shot®. The Priapus Shot, or P-Shot®, is designed to improve the sexual health of men, especially those who are struggling with sexual performance due to factors like:

  • Poor circulation
  • Prostate cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Surgery

Side effects from medication

This treatment has been used to improve sexual performance in men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. If you or someone you love has been struggling with sex due to ED, you can use P-Shot® for erectile dysfunction as a treatment method. Other facility offers P-Shot® and other regenerative therapies to help men improve their health.

P-Shot Stimulates Healing in Men with Erectile Dysfunction and Other Sexual Issues

The P-Shot is a regenerative therapy that uses growth factors in your blood to stimulate the healing process in your penis. It is a noninvasive procedure that does not require surgery, and patients can return to regular activities, including intercourse, within the same day as their treatment session.

How Does the P-Shot® Work to Reduce Erectile Dysfunction?

The P-Shot® uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to encourage healing inside the penile tissue and blood vessels. Platelets naturally exist in the bloodstream and can be extracted from the body into blood plasma. They produce collagen in the body, which stimulates tissue repair in the muscles, joints, and bones.

So, by having a concentrated amount of platelets in plasma, we can inject the PRP into your penis to stimulate tissue and nerve repair. The Journal of Sexual Medicine published a study that found 69 percent of ED participants who received PRP injections reported an improvement in their sex life compared to seven percent of participants who received a placebo. This showed that the PRP may lead to significant tissue repair in the penis.

What Are the Benefits of Getting the P-Shot®?

As healthy tissue returns to your penis, you can experience several benefits, including:

  • Increased sensitivity
  • Improved sexual stamina
  • Increased blood flow to the penis
  • Increased length and girth of your penis
  • Erections that are stronger and firmer during sex
  • Reduced chance of premature ejaculation

Patients who have undergone prostate cancer surgery have also shown signs of improvement and sexual dysfunction correction after getting P-Shot treatment.

P-Shot® Injections Can Also Help Men with Peyronie’s Disease and Other Ailments

Erectile dysfunction affects men of all ages, but it is not the only sexual dysfunction that can disrupt a man’s life. The P-Shot® can be used to treat other conditions that affect the penile area, such as:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Prostate discomfort
  • Peyronie’s disease

Peyronie’s disease is a condition that causes scarring inside the penis. This scarring can lead to painful and curved erections, worsening over time and resulting in chronic pain or bends. The P-Shot® helps the body to straighten penile tissue while also improving its circulation, health, and strength.

Here’s What to Expect in Your P-Shot® Appointment at Our Facility

The Priapus Shot is a non-invasive treatment that is relatively comfortable and only takes around 30 minutes. Patients do not have to take drugs or undergo surgery to receive this type of medical care. Also, there is no downtime, and you can begin having sex the same day.

When you come for a P-Shot® appointment, you can expect the following:

We will extract platelets from your blood: During this treatment, a sample of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge machine. This process concentrates the healing components in your blood into platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

We will numb the treatment area: Because this treatment will involve an injection to a sensitive area, we will apply a local anesthetic to numb the area to minimize as much pain as possible.

We will inject the PRP into the treatment area: After applying a local anesthetic, the physician will directly inject the PRP into your penis using a tiny needle to regenerate muscle tissue and blood vessels, at which time the natural healing process begins.

We will discuss aftercare and what to expect from your treatment: Depending on where you receive the PRP injection, you may be given a penis pump to aid your treatment. We may also take the time to schedule future treatment sessions based on the severity of your ED or discuss realistic timeframes for when you should start seeing results from your treatment.

Many patients do not experience pain during their treatment, though they may have side effects after the numbing agent wears off. Side effects generally stem from the physical injection, so some swelling, redness, or bruising is common. If you feel significant pain or experience an allergic reaction, alert your physician immediately.

In general, many patients are able to go home within the hour of their treatment session and resume regular activities later in the day.

When Can a Patient Expect Positive Results From the P-Shot®?

Some patients experience immediate results after receiving a P-Shot® injection; however, many patients require more time before seeing their ED symptoms subside. Most patients need around three to four weeks to notice significant changes in their sexual health, with the longest waiting period for patients being three months.

Keep in mind that the body uses PRP as a catalyst for tissue regeneration, but ultimately, this can vary by patient on how long it will take for the body to heal. It can be beneficial to have multiple treatment sessions to encourage regeneration in your body. We can discuss treatment plan options with you during your appointment as well as other therapies to aid your treatment, including customized nutrition and exercise plans.
